Bike S sizes (S, M & L)

The Porsche Bike S, built in the late 1990s, came in three sizes. Little as been documented about the three sizes. Most bikes for sale today do not list the size and I believe most bike owners do not even know what size bike they have. And the buyers interested in purchasing a Porsche bike end up with a bike that isn’t correct for their height as a result. All of the components on the Bike S are generally the same with the frame size being the only difference. So here is a way to visually tell the Bike S sizes with one quick glance.

Small size frame - the Bike S small frame has a shorter head tube (at handle bars). Notice there is no gap between the frame tubes connecting to the head tube. Also note the smaller “triangle” supporting the seat post. This frame fits people under 5'5" or so.

Medium size frame - The Bike S medium frame has the same shorter head tube as the small frame, but the “triangle” for the seat post tube is larger (same as large frame) which provides a higher seat. This frame size is ideal for cyclists 5'5" to 6'.

Large size frame - The Bike S large frame has the larger “triangle” like the medium frame, but also has a longer head tube. Notice the larger gap between the frame tubes connecting to the head tube at the handle bars. I have a large size Bike S frame and at 6'4" I fit comfortably.

With this information, it is possible to quickly determine a Bike S frame size. I hope this helps when buying a Bike S on eBay, Craiglist, etc.
