Bike S shock rebuild ... not needed

I took the 1998 Porsche Bike S front forks apart last night to check the condition of the elastomers. With my friend riding this bike 340 miles on the C&O/GAP ride, I wanted to refresh the elastomers if needed. The current set is six years old now. But once disassembled, I found the elastomers in great shape. A little greasy from dirt working into the fork, but not bad enough to replace. Good news. Now I can keep the new elastomers for another day or for someone else.
