Details emerge about the future of Porsche eBike Performance

Dr. Jan Becker posted on his LinkedIn account the following statement:

Our first cross-brand and cross-site strategy workshop is in the books. In early December, the Porsche eBike Performance management team, consisting of former employees from Porsche AG, Pon as well as our two brand units FAZUA and Greyp Bikes, met to hone our joint strategy for the coming years. What are the challenges we will face? Where do we see opportunities? Which targets do we set ourselves? How can the teams, and consequently the whole organization, fuse quickly and efficiently?

For two days, we discussed the current market conditions and singled out the challenges and opportunities for Porsche eBike Performance, our brands and our organization.

In the end, our discussions produced a clear vision, a roadmap and ambitions for 2023. But that’s not all - a team has emerged, fully committed to face these challenges and seize these opportunities with a constructive forward-looking mindset. It is in this spirit that we say goodbye for this year - I wish you happy holidays and a successful 2023!

Bikester rediscovered

The missing and mysterious Porsche Bikester has been found! The one-off concept bicycle was built for the 1997 EUROBIKE bicycle expo in Germany. The concept was a lightweight modern touring bicycle with full suspension and adjustable ride height (without tools). The Bikester shown at the 1997 EUROBIKE event included bright red fenders with integrated lights. This bike didn't look anything like all of the previous, and even future, Porsche Bikes ... making it stand out. After the 1997 event, the Bikester went missing for decades, until Porsche employees found it in the archive basement. From the photos, this is clearly the Bikester prototype, but the red fenders and front forks have been replaced. What happened to those parts? The mystery continues...

Cayenne new tires

Got new tires for the 2006 Cayenne S today. I just had to get Continentals again. My favorite tire brand. And these are ExtremeContact DWS 06 plus tires ... same as I had on before. Love these tires!

Autumn begins…

The autumn riding season is just getting started in my area. Leaves changing and falling. Warm days and cool breezes. My favorite time of year to ride. 15 neighborhood miles on the 1998 Porsche Bike S today. It’s been a couple weeks of hiding on the stationary bike, feels good to be back on the road.

PCA Sim Racing Series 9 opener

First race of the fall/winter PCA Sim Racing Series 9 started last night. I qualified P23 out of 28 after setting a so-so best lap. In the short qualifying race I moved up to P15. During the 40-minute feature race, starting P15 I moved up to P7 with a late pit strategy, but ultimately finished in P15 again. As always, I find this immensely stressful driving door to door with dozens of other cars at the start, but once the race settles in and I finish with a clean car, I really enjoy the competition.

Updated Porsche eBikes

New Porsche Press Release:
Porsche mobility extended: after the launch of the Porsche eBike Sport and eBike Cross last year, Porsche has released updates to both bikes in 2022 that increase overall performance and provide even more riding enjoyment.
The Porsche eBike Sport is the perfect companion for everyday life, whether in the city or in the countryside, for commuting to work or during leisure time. The new Continental tires provide more grip on gravel and unpaved roads. The new Porsche eBike Sport will be available in the U.S. at the Porsche Online Shop, Porsche-Design.com and local Porsche dealers and select Porsche Design stores from fall 2022.
The Porsche eBike Cross comes into its own away from paved roads. Especially uphill, in difficult terrain, the powerful EP-8 engine newly developed by Shimano really shines and supports the rider with maximum performance and a natural driving experience. The new eBike Cross will be available in the U.S. in early 2023.
