Follow my continuing passion to explore new adventures on Porsche bicycles. I have conquered a Century ride with a Porsche mountain bike, the Death Ride on a Porsche touring bike, the 184.5-mile Chesapeake & Ohio Canal Towpath in 2020, the 370-mile combined C&O/GAP trail in 2021 and the 237-mile Florida Coast to Coast ride in 2022. And just completed the Maryland and California Coast & Coast Porsche road bike adventure!

Daytona 24
My first Daytona 24 hour race in person. I am spent! I got to meet the Porsche GTLM drivers, see the race at night and watch the Sunday race hours in a crazy rain storm. All fun. Now it's time to sleep.

Daytona!!!!!
I'm at Daytona International Raceway for the IMSA 24 Hour race that starts tomorrow. Today was some Porsche parade laps and hanging out with hundreds of Porsche friends.
The event for us Porsche fans seems to be all about the Brumos colors. Everywhere I look there are the Brumos blue, red and white. Very cool.
Tomorrow at 2:30pm the 24 hour race starts and one of the Porsche 911 RSRs is on the GTLM pole position, in Brumos colors! Instead of watching the entire race on TV and streaming on the computer, I'll get to be trackside!

Daytona bound
I'm heading to Daytona next week for the IMSA 24 hour race. I know where I'll be for the entire race. I made the logo massive for everyone to see!

Snow run
Even in Maryland I can't dodge the white stuff. Getting six inches of snow last night, the sun came out and made for doable running conditions - just barely. Ran a slow four miles in the Porsche Design EC Running shoes.

EC Running tempo repeats
Another four-mile and four tempo-paced repeats around the path in my neighborhood park. I wasn't any faster as the cold temperatures and tight legs prevented speed. But this is the pain I must endure to roll into spring ready for faster efforts. Porsche Design EC Running shoes again today.

PD Endurance Boost
The Porsche Design Endurance Boost 2.0 running shoes arrived last week. I ordered the 2.0 version since I love the first version. The 1.0 had a neat reflective pattern, Boost mid soles and blue shoelaces. The 2.0 are navy in color, have an additional lateral support pattern and more side Boost cushioning. I haven't run with the 2.0 yet as I'm saving them for when I wear out the 1.0. I'll write up a review on the 2.0 shoes once I run in them.
Another five-miler
I reran the recent five-mile route again this morning. This time I was able to reduce the time by a little over three minutes from 58 to 55 minutes. That's from a 11:32 to a 10:53 minute mile. Not screaming fast but I like the progress.
Again the shoe of choice was the Porsche Design EC Running shoes. This is my go-to re-entry to running shoes.

Tempo run again
The clouds parted and the sun came out just enough to sneak in a four-mile run with four tempo repeats. It took a little longer to get warmed up so I could push the pace a bit. Probably a combination of the sudden start to my running again and the windy cold temperatures. The sun did feel good though. Tomorrow I'll try another slow five miler.

Night two-miler
Easy two mile recovery run tonight. Cold and dark, but manageable. Nice slow pace to shake off the five miles yesterday.

New Year’s run
Taking a New Year's morning run used to be a tradition. But I haven't done it in years. Since I am setting a goal for myself to run a half marathon at Boston Marathon qualifying speed by the end of this year, I decided to start the year out strong with an easy 5 miles. Nothing spectacular today, but this was my longest run in a long time. I took it slow and easy, but it felt really good.
Maryland is sure gloomy this time of year. There are no leaves in the trees and the skies are all cloudy. However today was almost 60° and a light wind. Felt awesome to run in.
I'm feeling good about my chances this year, but I have a long ways to go!
