Kicking back after returning from Monterey watching the 24 hour Spa race. Hoping to watch most of it and hoping Porsche does well. Fingers crossed!
Follow my continuing passion to explore new adventures on Porsche bicycles. I have conquered a Century ride with a Porsche mountain bike, the Death Ride on a Porsche touring bike, the 184.5-mile Chesapeake & Ohio Canal Towpath in 2020, the 370-mile combined C&O/GAP trail in 2021 and the 237-mile Florida Coast to Coast ride in 2022. And just completed the Maryland and California Coast & Coast Porsche road bike adventure!

Backroads to BWI loop
Ride number three after Porsche Parade and before heading west. This time I rode the 2004 Porsche Bike X 20 miles from my house on backroads to the BWI loop and back. Warm morning with a little breeze. Perfect weather. It felt good to ride again after Parade. But now I'll have another five days away from my bikes and cars.

Around the bend PR
Yesterday was a sport day riding and driving the Bike S and Boxster. Today is a touring day with the Bike X and Cayenne S. Nice balance across two days.
This morning was a nice 14 miler around my neighborhood on the Bike X. I got another Strava PR, this time on the ‘Around the bend’ segment.
This was the first test ride with the new Ergon SM bike seat. This one is a large/medium size, bigger than the prior small/medium size I used on the Death Ride and other long distance adventures. At first I could tell the difference but after awhile it didn’t seem to matter. It was comfortable. I like it!

Saddle Switcharoo
I never make things easy with my Porsche Bikes. And this isn't the first time I've switched components on the bikes. I did a three-way tire change before. Today was a three-way bike seat swap.
I damaged the Ergon seat on the 1998 Porsche Bike S in my over-the-handlebars crash. To replace that, a buddy gave me (thank you!) a brand new and updated Ergon SM saddle. I really wanted to use this new gifted seat on the 2004 Porsche Bike X during the 340-mile C&O/GAP ride.
So, I installed the new seat on the Bike X, removing that saddle and installing it on the Bike S to replace the damaged seat.
All went well and looks great. I'm hoping to test the new Bike X saddle during a 20-mile ride tomorrow morning.
Post Porsche Parade Playtime
Home from the Porsche Parade in French Lick, Indiana, I had to jump on the 1998 Porsche Bike S for a little 13-mile neighborhood ride. Missed my Porsche Bikes!

Heading home from Parade
Awaiting my flight back home from the 65th Porsche Parade with a few bike related oddities I picked up at the event. A buddy gave me an Ergon SM bike saddle I’ll install on the 2004 Porsche Bike X this week. This is a new and updated version of my current saddle. I’ll move that current seat to replace the Ergon saddle I damaged on the 1998 Bike S during my recent crash.
I’m also bringing home a small Porsche Motorsport stuffed bear I plan to hang from the Bike X as my C&O/GAP mascot.
