PCA Sim Racing Series 7 - Silverstone

Not a good start to my sim racing Series 7. Racing a GT3 R at the historic Silverstone circuit, a guy in front of me stopped and I ran into him and the guy behind me clobbered into me. Not sure why he just stopped ... maybe controller issues? I had to pit for an orange zone penalty and again for repairs. That effectively took me out of the entire race. I hope next week is better.

First run of the 2021/2022 off season

After the long C&O/GAP training and ride summer season, I'm starting to look toward the riding off season. Per my normal routine, I turn my efforts to running with Porsche Design running shoes. Today I ran my first run of the 2021/2022 off season. Running 3 miles in the Porsche Design Endurance Boost running shoes was fun and a little rough, but I need to start somewhere. I'll try to run again this week before resting up for the Lifeline 100 Century ride this Sunday.

Bike X conversion

This morning I cleaned up both the 1998 Porsche Bike S and 2004 Bike X after the 340-mile C&O/GAP adventure. Both needed some deep cleaning, degreasing and lubing. After, I changed the Bike X back to "road mode" to participate in next Sunday's Lifeline 100 Century ride in my home Anne Arundel County. Four from the C&O/GAP Porsche Bike team are holding over to ride the 100 miles October 3. Since my Bike X was in "touring" mode, I felt I'd be at a disadvantage with the fatter tires and extra bike bags. So, I changed out to 700c x 28c Continental Gatorskin road tires, removed all the bags and lowered the handlebars. This is the same configuration I used for the Death Ride. The Bike X is very fast now. Looking forward to riding again this Sunday!

C&O/GAP after photos

After the 340-mile C&O/GAP ride the Porsche Bike team visited Bike Heaven in downtown Pittsburgh. Bike Heaven claims to be the world's largest bike museum. With thousands of bicycles on display, I have no doubt! A perfect morning after a bicycle adventure. Also a few photos from the ride that friends took.

GAP day 3 of 3 completed

Completed the GAP ride today. Ten Porsche Bike cyclists started the 340-mile ride in Washington DC Sunday and all rode into Pittsburgh, PA together in the afternoon. My original 2021 goal was to ride the Great Allegheny Passage on the 2004 Porsche Bike X. That effort grew into riding the entire combined C&O and GAP with fellow Porsche Bike enthusiasts. We had ten Porsche Bikes including Bike S, Bike FS, Bike R, Bike X, Bike RS, Bike RX, eBike Cross and eBike Sport on this off road cycling adventure.

The ride was truly epic in every sense of the word. We rode through cold, wind, heat and even hard rain. We had spills, flat tires and crashes. Rough terrain, steep uphills and long detours. And of course, crazy long mileage. Even with the obstacles, we persevered and all ten riders finished. Another bucket list ride finished. Mission 2021 completed.

Erie Canalway Trail completed

Another epic Porsche Bike ride is in the record books. This time the Porsche Bike team rode 390 miles from Buffalo to Albany in the state of...
